What is traditional sign writing and where is this skill used?

I use sable brushes from suppliers proven to provide consistent quality. A.S Handover signwriting materials is my main supplier. My swing signs are made to customers individual requirements.

Traditional sign writing is used across many types of buildings and for many types of clients. It has been used in conservation areas, heritage buildings and facias, in pubs, restaurants, hotels and by architectural designers. This may be where an architect needs a traditional hand painted sign, in keeping with the building and requiring the use of traditional signs and materials. Traditional signwritng has also been used for theatres and the TV and film industries.

It can include internal signage, directional signs ie: 'Beer garden this way', or for hand painted quotations ie: " The proof of the pudding is in the eating!"

These can be sign painted directly onto emulsioned walls and where a modern plastic sign may not be appropriate. Traditional signwriting is used on the external areas of a building and used internally for directional signs and quotations on the walls and doors of pubs, restaurants and a range of other buildings.
